Support Coordination is a helpful service for people with disabilities who are part of the NDIS.
The main job of a Support Coordinator is to make things easier for NDIS participants. They do this by working one-on-one with them to understand what their needs are and what goals they have in life.
The Support Coordinator looks at the person's NDIS plan and figures out the best way to use their NDIS plan. For example, they might help the person find local services that can assist them with daily tasks, therapies, or joining community activities or finding STA/Respite services.
Support Coordinators are like guides; they know a lot about the NDIS and can explain its rules in simple language. They also help solve problems that may come up, like if a service isn't working out or if the person's needs change.
The goal of Support Coordination is to make sure that a NDIS participant gets the most out of their NDIS plan and funding. They help them build skills to eventually handle their NDIS plan on their own. It's all about giving control back to the person, in a way that's clear and easy for them to manage.
